B12/Ama Dablam(6856m),from Island Peak High camp, 1998    Photography by Osamu Uchida

"Ama Dablam" means "The mother's necklace" in Nepali language.

Ama Dablam is located near Mt.Everest in Khumb Himalaya.

I photographed this image from "Island Peak High camp" at 5700m high altitude where no one visit but a climber. I photographed this image at February 14, 1998.

Our party - I and my guide Dorje Sherpa, my two cooks Bom Grung, Tek Bahadur Tamang and two porters climbed to "Island Peak High camp." We constructed two tents on the narrow ridge and slept in the strong wind. Two porters went back to base camp because it was too cold for them. We were lonely in Himalayas completely.

And the next day I photographed this image.
